What is Agnihotra?
Agnihotra is an old vedic technique, a ritual or process. Dried Cow dung, ghee and rice are burned in a specially shaped copper bowl for this. This happenes at 2 defined points of time per day and each point of time has it's own short mantra to be recited thereto.
For the layman this might certainly sound a little weird at first but taking a closer look it's actually scientifically sound. I admit that I was quite sceptical too at first, because when a good friend tells you it will have strong energetic effects, influence your live, transform your garden just to burn cow dung, ghee and rice and sing a little, and having to do that twice a day it does sound bizarre.
Since I'm a sceptic regarding esoterism and just-need-to-believe I can only confirm that even one with a thick skin will feel that something is going on there. Agnihotra is an old vedic fire ritual and it's said that the knowledge was given to mankind at the beginning of the time. It creates a canal easily 8 kilometers high to pull clean, unpolluted "prana" - the power of breath resp. life-energy - down into the polluted levels.
One could also describe this a little more down-to-earth whilst replacing the word prana with electromagnetism. So it opens a canal and electromagnetic currents (information and energy) are exchanged. What does Agnihotra do?
It has been proven that Agnihotra neutralises harmful radiation of any kind, through to radioactivity. Agnihotra also removes toxines of any kind and is used to detoxicate body and soul as well as to clean soil, air and waters. The sphere of action of Agnihotra is around 1 kilometer in diameter and 12 kilometers in altitude. When practised on a regulary base, a very strong field is being established and the effect is clearly visible in the surrounding flora and fauna. The fire, or better the oscillation of the fire, is so intense that plants close by rather grow towards the copper bowl than towards the sun. How to do it
Prepare your dried cow dung by coating it with ghee on both sides, just as if you were spreading butter on toast. Then you break the parts into small pieces that fit your copper bowl for a little campfire. That way you make sure the fire burns well and you won't have to spend minutes lighting up a piece of cow dung with a candle. Maybe you simply build a little hollow tower by putting the small pieces onto each other like fallen dominoes. This way all you need to do is to throw a little piece of burning cow dung into the centre to light the whole thing up. Make sure the fire burns well at the defined point of time, meaning that you will have to start it a few minutes before. You can calculate the point in time for your location HERE. You should place a piece of cow dung at the bottom of your bowl so the rice grains always fall onto the cow dung and not onto the metal. Coat the rice grains with ghee before you throw them into the fire. Since everything is set now the only thing you need to know is WHEN exactly you need to start the fire, and which mantra you need to recite when. It's a little complicated to figure out the point in time, which is why there are a couple of websites and apps that can calculate the exact time for you. Use these on a daily base to practise Agnihotra at the correct time. The given point in time will be around sunrise and sunset and specifies the time frame you should start reciting your mantra. So if your list says 7.04,35 h you should be reciting at a well burning fire adding the rice grains at 7.04,35 h. In case you don't have access to the internet, or your list, you will still be able to light your fire at the right time. Just bear in mind that the time frame for reciting the mantra will always be a couple of minutes before sunset and after sunrise. The solar disc shall have just left the horizon in the morning and almost have touched it in the evening. Mantras
With every svaha you throw some ghee-coated rice grains into the fire. Just about as manyas fit between your three fingers, so really only a few grains.

Tryambakam
The Tryambakam is a supporting fire which is part of an almost identical fire ritual. It can be practised at any night- and daytime except during the morning- and evening-Agnihotra. The mantra is a little different and instead of ghee one throws a little butterfat into the fire with every SVAHA. You can repeat the mantra and add the ghee as often as you like. Meanwhile this is in use globally in Homa Therapy to cure drug addicts from their addiction. The Ash The remaining ash from the Agnihotra ritual is highly energetic and can certainly be processed further. We make ceramics out of it and use it on a regular base for the production of ash-water for detoxication. Browse our product offering! You can make all kinds of things from that ash. You can mix it with potting soil, spread some into your rain barrel, garden and flowerpot, onto seeds and where ever else you believe it might be good. Burnt, white ash is perfect to mix it with cremes, lotions, oils, food, drinks, shakes, shampoo, ice-cream and so much more. To produce white ash you need to burn the Agnihotra-ash for another 30-60 minutes in a small muffle furnace at around 900 degrees Celsius. It will turn into an almost white and superfine powder. Celtic saying to use for the lighting of the morning fire
I want to light my fire this morning In the presence of the holy angels In the presence of Ariel's greatest beauty In the presence of Uriel's countless virtues Without malice, without jealousy Without envy, withour fear without force against anything beneath the sun... Lord, light a flame of love in my heart to my enemy and friend and those related to me to the good and to the scoundrels. |
